The Jay Moulsdale Virtual Gloucester 10k
This year we are proud to be able to call the Virtual 10k “ the Jay Moulsdale Virtual Gloucester 10k”. This is in memory of Jay Moulsdale who sadly passed away following a heart attack at the end of last month. Jay was a true “ Mr Gloucester “ who over the years did a massive amount for local good causes and was the inspiration and driving force behind the Round Table Fireworks in the Docks which raised large sums for local charities. Away from the work he did Jay had a special way with people , always having time for them and understanding them at their level.
Jay wasn`t a runner but had a great sense of fun. The Virtual would have been his event . He loved nothing more than to dress up as outrageously as possible . So we are hoping for some particularly good fancy dress pictures this year.
It is especially pleasing that alongside the Gloucester Foodbank the race is also supporting the Great Western Air Ambulance this year. Whilst the emergency services did their very best for Jay sadly they couldn`t save him. The Air Ambulance isn`t funded by the state in anyway so individual contributions are so valuable . Any life which it can save also has a massive positive impact on those close to the person saved.
