The Charities for 2027
My Body Is My Body
MBIMB is a free, internationally acclaimed, award-winning music-led safeguarding programme helping children build confidence, body safety awareness, emotional understanding, and trusted-adult help-seeking skills. Trusted in 63+ countries and available in 35 languages.
The Hollie Gazzard Trust
The Hollie Gazzard Trust was created following the murder of 20-year-old Hollie Gazzard in 2014 by an ex-partner. Set up by parents Nick and Mandy, along with sister Chloe, the charity helps reduce domestic violence through creating and delivering programmes on domestic abuse and promoting healthy relationships to schools and colleges. The ultimate aim of the trust is to positively change the lives of young people through partnerships in communities, as well as working alongside other charities and professional agencies.
Night Angels
The Night Angels can be found in Stroud Town, Gloucester City and Swindon Old Town, patrolling the streets at night when bars and clubs are open. The Night Angels go out in teams of 2 (or more) and are equipped with first aid, AED, period products, phone chargers, anti spiking products, alarms, water, sweets, clothing, blankets, flip flops and more!
Main Sponsor Charity TBA
The main sponsor will nominate their charity of the year in due course.
If you want to go that extra mile, why not enter and get yourself sponsored too? You can collect money yourself and then send it to us in a lump sum via JustGiving or set up your own collection page on JustGiving for our event. We'd love to know how much extra you managed to raise to help these worthy charities. Do let us know!
The Race Director
Alex May has been a Rotarian in Gloucester for eight years and involved in helping Nigel run the event all that time. Now that Davies & Partners are handing over the running of the event to Rotary, Alex is stepping up to fill Nigel’s shoes. No mean feat! Alex is also a runner, although his 680 event miles have been run over about 200 events.

The Father of the Gloucester 10k
Nigel Tillott of Davies & Partners was the race director of the Gloucester 10k for 11 years, rescuing the event from disappearance. Nigel is a committed Rotarian and benefitted from the support of his Rotary club in organizing the event. He is also a regular runner of marathons and even ultras including the London and the Jungfrau marathons.

Corporate Challenge Sponsor
Davies & Partners Solicitors
Whilst it now has four other offices, Davies and Partners is very proud of its Gloucester origins in the late 1980s. Its head office remains in Barnwood and, in line with its Gloucester roots, it was delighted to support its long term employee, Nigel Tillott, in establishing the Gloucester 10k and to sponsor the Corporate Challenge from the outset. D and P has also been a long term backer of the Gloucester History Festival. The business provides a wide range of legal services for businesses and individuals.

Main Sponsor
EG Carter & Co Ltd
EG Carter is a fourth-generation, family-owned construction company operating across South West England. It provides a modern construction service with an underlying sense of tradition, value and history. Operating as the partner of choice, it is a company that delivers a dynamic, seamless and trusted service, supporting its clients, its people and its communities. In 2025, EG Carter will be celebrating its 200th anniversary. Its longevity is, no doubt, a solid testament to the care with which the company does business.

Event Organiser
The Rotary Club of Gloucester Quays
Chartered in March 2010, the club is a group of like-minded individuals who have the common aim of helping those less fortunate than ourselves whilst having fun. Apart from this event, the club is responsible for the Gloucester Beer Festival, the Comedy Night and some of the Santa sleigh runs.
The club provides a core band of volunteers, some of whom turn out early on the day, but a number of whom put in enormous amounts of work over many months to make the event work. Nigel and Alex are very grateful to be able to take some of the glory that is really much more widely deserved. In fact, the club and sponsors have been able to muster teams of volunteers from a number of other organisations in Gloucester, too numerous to mention individually, but without whom the event would not be the amazingly successful community event that it has become.
